LEMS – Automated tool to track the Life Cycle Engineering aspects of major equipment and weapons systems. Engineering Configuration Management of equipment baselines, Change Management – Engineering Change Proposals, Engineering Change Requests, Deviations and Waivers
Life Cycle Engineering Management System (LEMS)
eWorthy has designed and developed a web based full life cycle engineering/logistics application called LEMS - Life Cycle Engineering Management System. It is so termed because of its role in supporting the full spectrum of activities necessary to define a logistics or equipment system’s functional requirements, through design and engineering, construction, and maintenance and operations including logistics support. LEMS has been designed to be readily tailored to meet each customer’s specific hardware requirements. The goal of LEMS is to reduce life cycle operational costs by achieving the following:
1. provide a standard set of repeatable processes,
2. allow distributed execution of these processes
3. provide tight management controls to govern the operation of the system by warehousing all life cycle data in a central repository
LEMS provides a virtual 24 / 7 help desk that allows users anywhere, at anytime to request technical assistance, parts, and check the warranty status of a broken part.
LEMS is based on open architecture concepts and can be scaled to support logistics or various types of hardware systems deployed in any location. LEMS is designed to be modular while at the same time tightly coupled allowing incorporation of other modules such as an eCommerce ‘Parts-On-Line’ Ordering system.
LEMS incorporates the capability to concurrently develop, capture, update, and re-use data in electronic format enhancing data integrity, efficiency, and configuration control throughout the life cycle of any hardware system. LEMS can integrate with various industry standard databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL and Oracle. The following modules can be customized to meet your specific business operational needs.
Maintenance Management (MM) Module: This module lets you track who, what, where, when and how maintenance has been or will be accomplished looking forward to forecast future needs or backward to determine parts used. Using manufacturers’ reliability data, all preventive maintenance actions are scheduled according to skill codes, forecasted operational tempo, and maintenance philosophy.
Configuration Status Accounting (CSA) Module: This module provides in-depth configuration and data management functionality to account for every major model, series and make of traceable configuration item on any hardware.
Engineering Change (EC) Module: As changes are requested or proposed, their status (evaluation and approval process) are maintained and tracked in this module.
Document Management (DM) Module: This module makes it easy to manage all technical documentation including technical drawings, CAD drawings, schematics, tech manuals, and training materials. All changes are flagged so that content management changes can be made to related documentation. Operators and maintainers can go to one location to find all their technical updated documents.
Warranty Administration Module: All parts in the inventory are track to indicate they are under warranty and the scope of the warranty is tracked – either calendar period or hours of usage. As defects are recorded in the maintenance module they are automatically cross-checked for appropriate warranty status. If under warranty the original equipment manufacturer is contacted.
Spare Parts / Provisioning Module: This module tracks Provisioning Parts Lists (PPLs), Allowance Parts Lists (APLs), and all Provisioning Technical Documentation (PTD) and integrate that information with the Document Management module for all components of the system.
LEMS allows for the use of iPhones and other PDA devices to display video/pictures of maintenance actions and procedures, drawings, schematics, manuals and parts list. Scalable, affordable and rapidly deployable, LEMS allows you to link to an existing supply chain through Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) Web Services, as well as ERP type systems, making it the idea solution for your hardware life cycle needs.
